Yeah, I'm with Bono and Peter on this.  It would never happen in real life, which would make it unrealistic and set a questionable precedent.  And we're ridiculously undercrowded anyway, so adding more states/regions will hardly help things.

Quick Grammar Nazism point here.  Doesn't "y'all" apply only to a group of people, and not just one?  I know it's an odd question considering it's not actually a word, but I just thought I'd ask.

I'm happy with that.  Better to steal words from other languages than bastardize the one we use.

Maybe we could get Dave to make an addition to the swear filter, so that any time somebody types "y'all", it gets changed to "vosotros".

Seriously, "yall" is an improvement on the English language. It provides a separate word for the 2nd-person plural pronoun than the 2nd-person singular pronoun.

"Y'all" is about 100,000 times better than that ubitquitous "You guys" that you hear so often in the Northeast/Midwest.

I often hear "you guys" when I'm out on a date with a woman from a waiter/waitress.  It makes me want to punch him in the head.  I am not going out with a guy, unlike others who populate this forum.

So what's the problem?  It's obvious to everybody in that situation - you, the waiter, and the woman you're with - what's going on.  Why do you feel that his choice of words is an affront to your sexuality?

I'd much prefer to use two words that don't literally apply, than one word that isn't actually even a word.

The only thing I can figure is that many of your women up here (esp. in New England) look like men already, that "you guys" is quite an accurate description.

At least our females look human.
