Lewis,
Are you implying that you believe in the conspiracy theory that Reagan sent Bush to Iran via SR-71 Blackbird to negotiate that the Iranians hold the hostages until after the election?

Could it be that Carter's botched attempt to rescue them kind of pissed off the Iranians into not wanting to release them until Carter's ineptitude got him fired by the American people?
