Literally? Probably not.
Figuratively? Easily.

Congrats, Peebs, hopefully that turns out well. Smiley
Thanks!
Also, it seems they haven't read it yet, so I guess the end line of it ("Quitting the male gender/safety for Lent") isn't cold turkey. Tongue

That sucks, LLR. My throat's been killing me all day and it's been a real kick in the butt.
Thanks!

BTW Peebs, I was thinking about you today. Hope everything goes well when they read that email-you know Atlas has got your back.
Thanks! Apparently, they still haven't read it. This is getting less stressful and more annoying. Tongue
On a sidenote, my mom still made me go to school despite the fact that I feel like I'm dying.

Again, I'm waiting for a reaction from the folks. I mean, as I mentioned in Update for Everyone IV, my mom still kept misgendering me after I came out to her as if I hadn't said anything at all, so this is really hit-or-miss. I'll keep that in mind for if Butti brings her (as well as my dad) over and they accept me for who I am. Though, I remember reading that frozen sperm dies after 7 years or so. Seeing as I don't want to be a mother at 22 (that's for when my hypothetical eventual wife and I are 50 and we adopt a set of creepy adult twins from Romania), I'll probably pass on that and jump straight to hormones when I can. As for the voice thing, I've experimented a little when I'm alone. Obviously, I'll be doing it a lot more if the folks are accepting, but still.

EDIT: I'm basically just gonna bump this thread every day my parents leave the email unread. Tongue

25,000th post in just over six years. Could be worse I guess. I could have 50,000.
Godspeed.

Currently bamboozled by the fact that the Netflix subtitles at the end of "Mac Day" in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia say "All right, Pee Country Mac" instead of "R.I.P. Country Mac".
Also, still no response.

EDIT: On a side note, if any of you want to see what I sent to the folks, PM me.

My mom (who already knows) saw it, and I've been talking to her about it. Best case scenario, she gets it and after a conversation with the old man, they allow me to transition. Worst case scenario, I've already mentioned.

We're all hoping for the best!
Thanks! I'm writing a follow-up explaining most things related to the fact that I'm trans.

The folks seem to prefer to pretend that I didn't say anything at all simply because it's easier. So I guess Operation Good Catholic Girl was a failure. Considering I'm 15, I don't know what I was expecting. I mean, I could always go nuclear and start writing new essays about the fact that I'm trans every couple days until they get annoyed to the point of accepting me, but I don't have the time, resources, or energy.

I'm so sorry. I wish I had some advice to give you but I simply don't because I've never been in the circumstances you're in. I'm just so sorry.
Thanks, I guess. I mean, even this worst case scenario is pretty good, considering other trans people's experiences. I get to do exactly as I intended: Two-and-a-half years of bottling it up, then beginning to transition immediately after I leave for college, just without awkwardly coming out as I do it.
My parents were not Catholic, but they were extremely socially-conservative protestants. It won't be easy.
Mine aren't even socially conservative. We're a bunch of CINOs (CsINO?), and they're center-left. I just happened to come out on Ash Wednesday, and they just happen to be confused by the whole transgender thing.

Logical steps, although like I said, I was gonna just feign maleness for the rest of high school. Although, I suppose I could start using my new email with my new (well, "new") name, and only said email.

That's an interesting story. I'm not out to any school counselors, and I don't intend to be, on account of the fact that I'm not sure how they'll react. Although, my 2nd and 3rd block teachers are rather pro-LGBT (the latter runs the GSA and has a wife (she's a girl, btw)!), so I suppose both of them will be somewhat accepting.

While being a gay man is obviously a far cry from being a trans woman, I'll consider finding a third party to help the folks come around to it a little better than Buttigieg or long-winded explanations of what I want to do to my body have.

Awful, sure, but like I said, it could be far worse, spelling more of an inconvenience than anything else. Keep in mind that it's only 2017, so a lot of the parents of this generation tend to think that we're too young to be making decisions like running with scissors and obtaining the hormones to match. Fortunately, I'll be 18 in just over two years, so I'll be able to begin transitioning then.

Made a joke about the scissors in class by explaining a potential defense for HB2: "Scissors are sharp, see. But not too sharp, because that wouldn't be a problem." When asked what the scissors meant, I motioned toward their use using my fingers. The class assumed that scissors where a metaphor for authority, rather than chopping my (well, the person who wields the scissors's) dick off.

Peebs; do you have somewhere safe where you could go and be, well, open about being trans?
No, and due to my lack of transportation and willingness to come out to anyone else, I don't think I can arrange to have such a place either. Although, if I can, I'll try to. Like it was the case with the friend you mentioned, I could see it work for a while, if not becoming slightly annoying as I begin to feel as if I can take on the world while open about my being trans.

As I said, it could become useful, but thus far, I have little to no use for it. I hope it works out, too, even though that's obvious. Tongue

It's okay, I was confused by the "scissors = authority" comparison, too. Tongue

Currently about 5 seconds away from telling this person who's popping their mouth excruciatingly loudly to shut up, but apparently nobody else can hear this, so I'm sitting here about to have a heart attack.

Considering coming out to my 2nd and 3rd block teachers and going nuclear toward the folks (already mentioned how earlier). Not ready to consider taking any chances with my 1st or 4th block teachers yet, since I don't know how they'd feel about the fact.

There was apparently a protest staged for IWD called "A Day Without Women", where women just stay home. Being a woman (albeit trans and technically closeted about the fact), I tried to walk back home after I had already left for the bus, and failed miserably.

Accidentally stabbed myself trying to poke a hole in a water bottle. Wound was small enough, so I wiped off the blood and put a band-aid on it.

Update: My mom seems to be working on it. My dad either doesn't know or doesn't care, and I'm hoping it's the former.

I try to avoid commenting on these things but... damn, Peebs your family seems to have serious issues with communication.
I don't have the scrote to bring it up nearly as often as I want to, so most times I just leave it. Considered spraying them with a water bottle every time they referred to me as "(birthname omitted)" or "he", but I'm conserving my energy for other matters.
