Doesn't mean much in and of itself, but it is consistent with the idea that the Republican establishment is nowhere close to unifying around one candidate.

I'd say Rubio is to Cruz's left economically, however. On social issues, definitely to Cruz's right.

In terms of actual policy positions, Rubio is to the right of Cruz (Cruz voted to weaken the Patriot Act), so it is not weird at all.

...

Rubio's called for a new Constitutional Convention (!), for banning abortion in all cases, support for unlimited warrantless wiretapping, and a far more aggressive foreign policy than Cruz. In what sense is Cruz to Rubio's right?

Cruz thinks our monetary policy should be tied to a gold standard, which is about the most absurd right-wing economic policy I can think of. I agree that they are both incredibly right-wing candidates, I would say equally right-wing overall, as there are probably a similar number of issues where Cruz and Rubio are to each other's right.

The panic rush to prop up Rubio is underway.

Might plausibly get him second place.

Makes me wonder who Piyush Jindal will endorse.

I don't get the whole "not calling people by their preferred name" thing.

Not sure how much it helps in a Republican primary to be endorsed by a guy who worked in the Obama administration.

I have been pretty good at calling these so far.
