Any other Downton Abbey fans?

It functions as a sort of pension scheme for character actors who have been in infinitely better things, I suppose (especially as they're mostly just phoning in. Jim Carter, to go for the extreme example, is one of the best television actors of his generation, but you'd never think it from this programme). I can't think of anything else to say about it that isn't abusive.

Though I suppose the writing must be mentioned. Because it is really quite specially awful.

Not to go off topic, but what films and television programs do you actually like, if I may ask?  Which best meets your lofty standards? It's becoming increasingly evident that we have opposite opinions regarding every movie and television program that I like.  And we haven't gone into television documentaries yet...

Dude, it's a TV show.  One that we like, but still just a show.  Get some perspective.  And a life.

Does anyone here think Ethel is going to last long as a maid in Isobel Crawley's house?

I've also heard rumors that Matthew Crawley is supposed to get killed in a car accident.

It came from a Wiki article I read.  If everything that BRTD has said about Wiki's credibility is true, you have nothing to worry about.  

Matthew is the only one who can convince Robert to take his head out of his ass, so I doubt he'll die any time soon.

Well I certainly hope he doesn't die either, but I have some faith that his protege and partner, Tom Branson, will be able to bring Downton Abbey back to financial health if the worst happens.  

Or at least until the Great Depression hits, if this series goes on that long....

Okay, why is Matthew being given all the lame cliche lines?  

'Oh, Mary, how much I love you!'

'Oh, Mary, I don't know what I will do without you!'

And on, and on...

Does anyone know when Season 4 will hit our television sets?  I know it is being filmed as we speak.
