Interesting - a tale of 2 NJ Governors going in different directions in the same day (Christie for Trump and Whitman for Kasich).

Whitman of course also headed EPA under Bush.  She compared Trump to Hitler and Mussolini a while ago.

With Nancy's passing, this is an odd time for it.

PeteB, Kasich met with Schwarzenegger in CA even before he announced.

I agree that this is no surprise. Still today is the "official" endorsement so I figured I will post it here!

Besides having Kasich being called an Action Hero and Guvernator definitely deserves a post or two Smiley!

Even though the Democratic caucus in WA is not until March 26th and the GOP Primary is not until May, Seattle Times endorses Sanders and Kasich:

And, since I believe that only Kasich had an (outside) chance in IL, this pretty much guarantees vote splitting and a Trump victory! They should frame this endorsement and put it next to the Dewey beats Truman headline!

Interesting.  Of course, if we get into the yellow press territory, this implies that Angelina Jolie will now counterendorse either Kasich or Cruz! Smiley

Urban Meyer for Kasich!

For those who are not college football fans, Meyer is the Ohio State football coach. Ohio State University (student body around 65,000) is the largest college in OH and the third largest in the US (and yes, this is a BIG endorsement in OH)!

Cincinnati Enquirer for Hillary (they already endorsed Kasich on the GOP side):

http://www.cincinnati.com/story/opinion/contributors/2016/03/10/endorsement-clinton-understands-art-possible/81586752/

Their overall take:

"...The Enquirer’s top candidates – Clinton on the Democratic side and Ohio Gov. John Kasich on the Republican side – would provide a steady hand and strategic nudges to get government back on track.....America needs leaders with expertise in the art of the possible rather than the gift of glib, empty promises."

Columbus Dispatch and Akron Beacon Journal (OH) for Kasich:
http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/editorials/2016/03/13/1-kasich-is-best-choice-for-gop-ohio-republicans-can-send-message-to-trump-nation.html

http://www.ohio.com/editorial/editorials/for-president-john-kasich-in-the-republican-primary-1.667645

With these endorsements, Kasich has pretty much received the endorsement of nearly every major paper in Ohio (including the three main media markets - Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cincinnati Enquirer and Columbus Dispatch). The Dispatch endorsement is particularly unusual as they usually do not endorse in the primary.

Not really an endorsement but can be viewed as one:

In a result at odds with national polls, the latest CNBC Fed Survey of economists, fund managers and analysts finds Ohio Gov. John Kasich is viewed as having the best policies for the economy and for Wall Street.
A 42 percent plurality says a Kasich presidency would be best for the U.S. economy, followed by 16 percent choosing Democrat Hillary Clinton and 13 percent picking real estate developer Donald Trump. Not a single respondent chose Clinton's Democratic rival Bernie Sanders.
