The speech itself will have very little effect. What it will do though is show how amateurish Trump's campaign is (whether Melania wrote the speech or somebody else did, someone did not do a proper vetting job). Expect the media to start showcasing this incompetence more and more - that WILL have a negative effect on Trump.

Color me naive but I actually believe McIver, that she inserted the Michelle Obama paragraphs. Whatever I may think of the Trumps, nobody can be that dumb.

However, it does raise the issue of the perpetual  amateur hour in Trump's campaign - ultimately that will be the nail in the campaign coffin.

However that fact doesn't excuse the sloppiness of Trump's campaign.
