Went to the Doctor today, turns out a build of fluid and pressure caused my ear drum to burst. I won't be able to hear out of my right eat for the next few months. Luckily, I'm on enough pain killer to make a Clydesdale see stars, so it doesn't hurt too much.

Sooo, I've got a lot of explaining to do. I'd like to apologize to everyone in Atlasia and to everyone I played with in the Sword of Damocles for my absence. I can promise you that this was a series of very good reasons, scouts honor. I have had a lot happen to me this summer already, namely that I have recently gotten a new job with the Southern Center for International Studies in Atlanta. Despite that I'm now living in Georgia, I will keep the Louisiana avatar. It's just better.

Also, I got engaged to my longtime girlfriend, Cleo, and we are now living together in Atlanta while continuing online studies with our school back in LA. We plan on getting hitched around this time next year. Again, sorry to everyone that was waiting for my posts and input in Atlasia and the Sword of Damocles. But, I can say that it is very good to be back.

So I applied for and was accepted into this program in which high school students go to Washington, D.C. for a week to do governmenty things.

According to their website, each week they have someone who holds political office come in to speak. That was the part of the program I was most excited about. Last week they had Jeh Johnson come in, which must have been pretty cool.

But for the week I signed up to go, they invited... Bill Cassidy.

Who cares about Bill Cassidy. I was hoping they could at least get some actual relevant Senator like Durbin or Hatch or really anyone else to come in, but no, they had to choose Bill Cassidy.

He was always conservative, but now he seems to be parroting whatever comes across his gaze, which I guess is par for the course among some avid, opinionated Facebook posters. I dunno. I don't have a problem with conservatives in general in regards to dating (unless they are really politically-inclined, because I am too and it probably wouldn't work in the end), but Trump is a different deal to me. You don't have to be a bigot or a pervert to support him, but by doing so you are implicitly stating it's not a deal breaker to be a bigot or sexual predator. From my perspective I want nothing to do with that.

You see I couldn't have that sort of attitude. I get why some folks do, but it is near impossible for me to do so. I still want to be able to talk to my own mother
