I have met my match on advanced planning.  Susan has officially beaten me to the punch on Christmas 2010 planning.  I normally don't get started until Father's Day in June, but she's more than a month ahead of me.  She gave me her first idea for Christmas over this past weekend and we are still 6 months until Thanksgiving.  So, I guess this is going to an advanced planning family!!  Next thing you know we'll plan our first anniversary right after our wedding.

An idea of our Mother's Day 2010 plans.  We're going to take her mother out to lunch Saturday and go to church with her Sunday morning and then eat Mother's Day Sunday Dinner with my Mother and Grandmother after church Sunday.  There is no church Sunday night so we can spend the afternoon and evening with our mothers.

On Sunday, we will also cross underneath 11 months to go until the Wedding Day and at 4:00 Monday evening, we will also cross underneath 8,000 hours until the same (thanks, www.timeanddate.com)!!

11 months from today is the wedding!!  Saturday evening, we had the little "why I love you" discussion.  She went first and I went second.  I won't tell you what was said, but I will tell you one thing:  She keeps calling me the "greatest guy".  I'm not so sure I'm the greatest, or even great, but it does make me feel good!!  Of course, I return the favor by calling her the "greatest lady".  That's not just to fulfill my obligation of being called the greatest guy, but it is the truth and is truly how I feel about her.

I did find out something cool, though.  Our music selections match perfectly!!  Our TV shows aren't compatible as I like football and she likes Ghost Whisperer for example.  Thankfully, I have more than one TV in the house, so we can watch our own different shows!!

I got a pleasant suprise in the mail on Thursday.  I got an Escrow overage check from my home loan in the amount of $756.37.  That will pay for half of the flights, hotel, and rental car for our honeymoon, which we are going to book next Saturday, May 22.

It's hard to believe we've been engaged for 6 weeks!  It seems like but 6 days with this lovely lady. Smiley  We have officially 47 weeks until we tie the knot!!

We are coming to the end of May pretty rapidly, which means we are around 10 1/2 months until the wedding.  If you count May to be all but over (even though we have 13 days left) and we're basically staring June in the face, we have about two months (June and July) of dating and small scale planning and purchasing small items to reduce the cost later.  Then we'll spend the next three-four months (August-October, maybe November) doing marriage counseling with both pastors.  My pastor will probably go first in August and September and then her pastor will go second in October and, if we need, November.  Then, probably starting in November and especially December, we'll start getting really busy as we head through Christmas and the first quarter of 2011.

Things continue to be really awesome between the two of us.  We keep finding out great things about each other!  We have some differences in styles, but those are actually what is attracting us to each other.  The old saying and law of physics "opposites attract" is quite true in our case.  We have a lot of similarities and a lot of differences, but we're doing really well!!

Tonight, we're going to get together and go out to dinner and start discussing our July 4 plans, since that is only 6 weeks from Sunday.  I'll be on vacation in New Mexico Memorial Day weekend, so the next holiday is Independence Day.  Then, Friday night, I'm going to take her out to see a movie.  We'll either see Iron Man 2 or I might try to talk her into seeing the last Shrek movie.

We've got a lot of good stuff planned the next few months!!

I can't plan out more than 6 hours of my life at a time........I don't know how you do it, Bushie.

Well, if it helps you become more confused, we are not too far from beginning our earliest Christmas plans, even though we still have 7 months until Christmas Day.  We'll probably start plans in June.

We discussed something wonderful tonight!!  We are starting to discuss plans for after we're married and the way it looks right now, we're going to move to Phoenix, Arizona probably around Fall 2012.  I have a 3-year "contract" with the government in this house, and I am 9 months into it now and will be 20 months in after we get married, so I'll only have 16 months left in the house to avoid paying anything back to the government for the $8,000 FTHBTC.

For our first anniversary in April 2012, I am going to take her to Phoenix to scope out the City before we move there in the fall so we're not totally clueless as to where things are.

What kind of job leads do you have in the area? It seems a bit counterintuitive to move from a state that is among the healthiest, economically, to one with a very high unemployment rate.

Considering it's still 2 years away, no job leads right now.  I plan to start looking down there around March 2012 and hope to be out of Oklahoma by August 31.

Jeff, his wife, texasleftist, her boyfriend and I and our pets will all live in the same house!

Oh, Lord!!  That'd be a clash of politics, from 2 liberal Democrats to 2 centrist Democrats to conservative, but sensible Republican.  Election Day would be chaos in our home, LOL!!

Anyway, my wife and I will live by ourselves!  We can live close to James and texaslefty, but not WITH them!!!

We booked our honeymoon this afternoon. Smiley  We are leaving on Sunday, April 10, 2011 and returning on Sunday night, April 17, 2011 heading toward Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.  We also booked 3 days at Disney World.  The flights, hotel, rental car, and Disney World passes are all booked now and I'm only $1,750 poorer.  Thankfully, I put it on my credit card and I can pay it down each month, so it's not coming out of my bank account all at once.

We are down to 46 weeks until married life begins!!

We now have both sets of parents on board for our move to Arizona in two years.  My mother said "If you can find a job in Phoenix, go for it!!"  They may try to transfer to Ogden, Utah here in about 3-5 years, themselves.  Dad's company has a major office there which is just 15 miles north of Salt Lake City.  We're going to go out to Phoenix for our first anniversary and scope out the place and then I'm going to start looking for a job down there when we get back to Oklahoma and hope to be transferred by the end of the summer, maybe August 2012.

Hopefully this is all refundable.

The hotel and the car are refundable.  The flights I don't think are, but at least the hotel and car are and I'm not sure about the park passes.  I don't forsee that being needed, though.  Our engagement is going so great that I don't see a monumental collapse.

Tuesday is June 1, 2010, so we'll have roughly 10 months until the wedding.  We will be two months from starting marriage counselling (August-October) and then we'll have a breather until probably Thanksgiving and then I imagine right after Thanksgiving we'll be rockin' and rollin' and huffin' and puffin' for the next four months trying to get the wedding plans finalized.  So, other than the counseling, we have probably 5 or 6 months to relax before we enter the real busy phase.  The wedding has the potential to overshadow my Christmas preparations, though I am going to make it a point to take time out to enjoy Christmas and New Year's with my wife-to-be.

We just celebrated our matron of honor's youngest son's 1st birthday.  He is such a cute kid!

Also, we have started talking children of our own and we may take the adoption route.

Third, I have officially selected my best man!

We had a fun evening last night, spending the bulk of it dining on grilled chicken with my parents.  When my parents and I went to New Mexico last weekend we bought her a one-of-a-kind authentic turqouise necklace straight from the hands of a silversmither.  We negotiated a good price for it, and the lady gave us her card and told us that if it ever breaks to call the number on the card and send it back to her and she'll fix it for free.  We gave several other things to her and one thing to her mother, as well.  Susan keeps telling me "I've got the greatest guy!!!"  If she doesn't watch out she's going to inflate my ego beyond a good measure.  For now, though, she is a real encouragement.

For the first time this past week, I've been thinking that I know without a shadow of a doubt that this engagement will turn into a life-long, happy marriage.  I never had that sense of relief with my previous two fiancee's.  I do with this one, though!!  Last night, we were at her mother's for a little bit after we left my mother's and we started talking about where we're at now that we're basically 10 months out.  From the way it sounded they are going to order her dress by August, so they can have plenty of time to get it altered and such.  We're going to start with our marriage counselling in August and that will, of course, run through probably October or November.  Susan, her mother, and I agreed that once we get on the other side of Halloween (which is roughly 4 1/2 months from now) that things will start getting really, really busy.

We're making progress on the planning.  This Thursday, we are going to decide on the wedding music and run it by the minister of music at the church where we're going to have the ceremony sometime next week.  On Tuesday, I'm also going to call a photographer and give us a chance to look at their work and move in a direction to hopefully decide and hire a photographer by the first of July.  In July, we are also going to create our gift registeries so we can encompass the entire Christmas season and maybe ask for some Christmas dishes as well as regular dishes.

We are going to take another step forward in the planning tonight as we're going to pick out our wedding music!!!  We've already got the main song picked out, now we're going to select the other 2 or 3 songs.

I will get laid by one more person the rest of my life and that not until our wedding night at the earliest.  When she becomes my wife, she'll be the next one, and last one, to lay me!!  The good thing with this woman, is there is absolutely no chance of having sex before we're married.  Heck, we may not even have a full fledged kiss until we lock lips in front of the church at the wedding ceremony.  Right now, we're kissing on the lips, but it's just a peck on the lips, not anything more than that.

Why one "more" person, anyway?

He had an experience in Arkansas with his ex-fiancée.

Correct.

Last evening was a great evening.  We originally were going to a Night of Praise song service at church, but nobody showed up due to a youth camp parents meeting (they're leaving Monday).  So, we decided to go on an impromptu date, the best kind IMO.  We went to the mall where i bought her ring and ordered a certificate of authenticity as well as insurance letters so I can include the rings in my homeowners insurance policy which they will mail to my address by the middle of next week.  We then decided to Steak & Shake and just have a couple delicious milkshakes.  It was about 8:15 and we weren't done, so I took her home and then we, along with her mother, started discussing wedding decorations, as well as setting up the wedding and reception, the rehearsal, and started discussing the schedule for the morning of the wedding.  This afternoon, we're going to meet with both mothers and start looking at the photography.  We're definitely not going to make any decision today, but we're going to interview and audition one company today and we hope to have our decision made by August 1.

Well, at least he won't be completely inexperienced!  Of course, I'd "test the goods" before coughing a diamond ring.

But, I don't want to "unwrap" the package before we get married, though, because once the package is unwrapped, it can never be wrapped again.  Besides, it would be a whole lot more special if I waited to unwrap the package until the wedding night or sometime during the honeymoon.
