Its food fare is crap. Other than that, if you are on a limited budget, it is OK for a date. Don't pretend to be what you are not. I would recommend however, after eating the pancake crap (bad for the diet, and its non breakfast food is almost non-digestible), I would suggest some activity with well, lower lights, even if it is making out in a car. JMO.

We're still quite a ways from that, yet.  She is comfortable with giving me a little peck on the cheek, which is fine, but neither of us are comfortable with advancing, yet.  The thing I'm going to have to get used to is she told me she's not a very affectionate person such as hand-holding and stuff like that.  She likes to hug, but as far as holding hands, she's not too keen on that.  It doesn't mean she doesn't love me, but that its just not her cup of tea.

You're already using the term 'love' to describe your affection? It took me 5 months to tell my last long term girlfriend I loved her, and I never got to tell the more current one's that, yet. That's pretty fast to move!

I got a call from Susan this morning and she wants to be my girlfriend.  I accepted, naturally.  I'll just put it bluntly, she is falling head over heels for me and the feeling is mutual.  Everything is going just great.

Seconded.  I'd wait at least a month.  Again, I'd likely be in the same boat and need people to tell me the same.  You need to be in the driver's seat here Bushie.  And right now, you can easily be in that position.  Just sit back and let her be the eager one. 

I know I need to go slow and we still are.  This may be a quick step, but like I said, we've known each other for the better part of 18 months and have always been good friends.  So, if you think of it that way, its definitely not too fast.  Look at it this way, we are already going slower than I did with Tiffanye.  If you throw out the past 18 months and just go with the past two weeks, then its already slower.  12 days into my relationship with Tiffanye, I proposed to her.  We were boyfriend/girlfriend after about 3-4 hours.  Susan and I are 14 days into our dating and we're just now boyfriend/girlfriend.  Next step is TBA...

Besides for Valentine's Day 2010, our next step will be for her to meet my parents and grandmother.  This is not any indication, but just to give them a chance to meet, get to know and get used to each other, in case things do develop further.  I've already met her mother and her grandmother, and I really like them and they me.  I'll probably ask my grandmother to fix a dinner in early March and have all of us meet over there.  The last thing I want to do to my mother is sometime down the road propose to a girl that my mother has never met.  That's not being a very courteous son or boyfriend.

As for me I'm on match with a few issues with some women.  One got pissy with me after the Eagles lost to Dallas, then I was drunk and texted a few nasty things, now she e-mailed me apologizing profusely saying how she was a b-tch and how nice a guy I am and she regrets how she was towards me.  I made her sweat a bit, but I'm giving her another chance.

Thanks, Flyers!!  I know things will be better with Susan than with Tiffanye.  If I can just continue to take my time with this relationship, I've got her.  This is the type of lady that would give you the blouse off her back if she had to.  That's not just a well-worn cliche' either, its the absolute truth.

Thankfully, its nothing more than sinus congestion.  It didn't stop me from going to a church men's meeting tonight, and it will not stop me from going to work tomorrow, or from my date tomorrow evening.  Light dinner and games are on the agenda for tomorrow night.

Anyway, the date went great and we decided to go a hole-in-the-wall type diner in NE Oklahoma County in the town of Jones.  We came back and played a couple games of UNO and then talked with her mother for a little while and watched the end of LOST season premier.  Friday, we're thinking about going to see a movie together, do something different for us.

No way dude.  This girl didn't even try to establish any chemistry, was boring, and dressed like an old woman.  Then at 11 Saturday night, she had to go home because she was tired then I went to a bar to meetup with friends.  I've had better and I'm not wasting my time with her.  She would have had to blow me in the parking lot for me to even give her another chance.  I even tried to kiss her and she acted weird.  She wasn't terrible looking, but no frigging way will I call her.

On the FIRST DATE?  C'mon man, even I don't do that.  Of all the things I did with Tiffanye, I never kissed her.  And, Susan has only pecked me on the cheek, that's it.

Don't try to kiss on the first date.  The kiss needs to be meaningful for both of you, not because it sounds like a good idea at the time.

Tomorrow night's date has been moved to Saturday as I am celebrating my Dad's 58th birthday tomorrow night.  His birthday isn't actually until Wednesday, but we'll celebrate it tomorrow night, because next weekend is, of course, Valentine's Day.  I'm thinking about making Saturday a date day, rather than a date night.  I'm wanting to take her to an afternoon matinee and then to a benefit Spaghetti Dinner that my church is hosting for a couple in the church.  I'll see if she wants to do that.

I'm probably going to call her about 1:00 or 2:00 this afternoon and try to get with her about 4:00 and maybe do a Saturday matinee and dinner.  I'm thinking about seeing The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock.  I'll see what she wants to do.  I can't call her until after noon, and the matinee show starts at 3:30, so i would have to call her about 12:30 and pick her up by 2:30.

EDIT:  Just as I submitted this post, she called me and we're going to meet at her house about noon and then we'll go see The Blind Side at 3:30, then go to my church's spaghetti dinner tonight.  So, instead of a date night, it will be a date day!!

We had a great time today!!  I picked her up about 12:30 and dropped her off about 9:00.  We didn't go see the movie as she just wanted to talk, so we just walked around the mall for a little bit and came back to my house and just sat and talked and played with my kitty!!  The spaghetti dinner was cancelled so we just ate Mexican food.  We had a good conversation today.  She did bring up the "future" today, and she wants to wait until this Thanksgiving or Christmas, at the earliest, before we advance any further and until late 2011 or early 2012 before we tie the knot if things go that far.  I wasn't going to bring it up, but she brought it up.  She wants to get to know me a lot better.  She has to take care of her mother and grandmother, neither one of whom are in very good health.  Her mother is 60 years old but the cartilage in her spine is dissolving causing bone on bone pain.  She also has some kind of disease that makes her arms and legs swell.  Her grandmother is in her early 80s and has no teeth and is a diabetic, so she has to cut up her food to give to her and Susan has to take care of her such as bathe her and such, because her mother can't really do it.  So, even if we do get married, she wants to wait until her grandmother passes on before she moves in with me and move her mother into an apartment close to us so we can take care of her in her advanced years.  I told her I would make her take care of them since they have been there for her her entire life.  I told her I'm not even really thinking that far in the future.  I have my ideas, but I haven't put too much thought into it.  This just gives us a long time to get to know each other.

One side note, I did find out Saturday that she doesn't care whether I am a Democrat or a Republican.  She brought up that conversation saying that she found out that I voted for President Obama, and she said she didn't care, that she loves me for me, not for my political views.  She's not a political person per se, but she is a Republican, and like me is independently minded.

One side note, I did find out Saturday that she doesn't care whether I am a Democrat or a Republican.  She brought up that conversation saying that she found out that I voted for President Obama.

How did she find that out?

We knew each other in 2008 and were really good friends back then and she knew I was going to vote for Obama.  Then, last week, the friend that put us together told her I changed my registration for her benefit (which was not the case), but she told me that she doesn't care what political party I belong to.  She only cares if I belong to my God and to her.  She knows I'm mostly conservative when you balance everything out, but she doesn't care what political party I belong to.
