My parents and I just went to Golden Corral this evening.  We go quite a bit and they usually have great food.  The food tonight was delicious.  I had two drumsticks of fried chicken, one slice of BBQ Beef Brisket, and two big helpings of Mashed Potatoes and White Gravy.  Not very diet friendly, but when I go out to eat, I leave my diet at home and pick it back up when I get home.

     I've never heard of the Golden Corral before, so I don't quite get what you mean.

It is a buffet restaurant that is famous for being patronized by seniors

In Oklahoma, it's not just seniors that go there.  The one I generally go to (which is not the closest one to me) has a lot of families with young children.  It has quite the diverse clientele.

One thing about Golden Corral, or at least those in Oklahoma City Metro, is breakfast is only served from 7-11 on Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays.  So, during the work week, brunch is actually more like a regular lunch as the restaurant doesn't open until 11:00, which is the beginning of lunch time in a lot of circles.

I've never been. There isn't one near me, but apparently the location here is near the airport. It is actually good?

I assume with the question mark you mean Is it actually good.  Yes, yes it is very good, or at least the ones in Oklahoma (and from clarence has said, the ones in Florida, as well).  They have a wide variety AYCE buffet ranging from traditional ham, chicken, BBQ Brisket, Steaks, all kinds of vegetables, an italian section, pizza, a seafood section, and a Mexican section, along with different types of rolls and biscuits.  The dessert aisle at the one I go to is equipped with several different flavors of ice cream, such as vanilla, chocolate, v/c twist, strawberry, and orange sherbet.  They have a whole bunch of different cakes, pies, and ice cream toppings such as M&M's, oreos, candy corns, nuts, gummy bears.  They even a chocolate fountain that you can dip anything into to make it chocolatey.

We just went to Golden Corral last Friday.  It was full of great tasting food.  My normal plate consists of somekind of meat, either Ham or Fried Chicken or BBQ Brisket and mashed potatoes with white gravy, and corn.  My dessert usually consists of a bowl of Banana Pudding topped with Vanilla Ice Cream or Orange Sherbet.

So the diet is going good then.

When I go out to eat, I am not concerned with my diet, it's a time to relax.  I pick my diet back up when I get home.

Nope, if you look at the first page you will see that it is really more of an and/or proposition.  Brisket, Fried chicken and two big helpings of mashed.  That isnt really a problem or anyone's business but his own.  However, he shouldnt delude himself and say he is trying to lose weight and then eat like that.

Well, I certainly haven't gained any weight back.  When i go out to Golden Corral, I generally get Diet Coke and other places I opt for the Coke Zero or Diet Dr. Pepper if they have either one, to kind of cut down somewhere.
