I really doubt Americans are going to suddenly become addicted to all these drugs because they're legal.

If you can't even reform a major party in a Libertarian direction, what makes you think you'll ever be able to reform the country in a Libertarian direction?

Obsessive taxation is theft.

Uh, 51% of the public does not constitute a mandate to spend the other 49 percent's money.

Uh, 51% of the public does not constitute a mandate to spend the other 49 percent's money.

Does the 49% drive on paved roads? Do their children go to public school? Do they eat government-inspected food? Does the military and police protect them and their property?

To NOT pay taxes for those services would actually be theft.

You can't take someone's money, give them something, and then get upset when they complain.

Libertarian and utopia are completely compatible terms. However, it is not the only compatible term.

A libertarian utopia is just a hypothetical world where everything is perfectly libertarian. He was essentially asking about your ideology.

I don't think he was saying libertarians think utopia is achievable.

Don't like drugs? Don't take them. Don't like a business? Don't buy from it.

Liberty is freedom. Not government-induced euphoria as you seem to think it is.

They still say the income tax is unconstitutional. It's a step in the right direction, but still nutty.

So that they have some actual say and representation in government. And more importantly, to mitigate the effects of the religious right.

oh cummon MasterJedi, we'd be able to pummel liberals into submission : )

Then, after we beat them, and the Democrats become the third party noone votes for, we can split again.

You have how many members again? Add the Libertarian votes and Republican votes in the states in 2004. Nothing changes.

We would have won more Senate seats in 2000.

Actually, just Washington. Michigan would have been closer.
