I like polls like this to see how the country is shifting and how the partes may need to shift their views.

Anyways I think the deasth penalty should be very limited.

Step 1: There is undeniable evidence against a suspect who commited a very heinous crime (like serial killing).
Step 2: Provide immediate help
Step 3: Ask the criminal if assissted suicide may be the answer for him or her.
Step 4: If the person says no, but continues to be unruly then the death penalty may be used.

I don't see how this is different from the death penalty, unless you are an Edo-period samurai who thinks "being ordered to commit seppuku" is more honorable or whatever than being executed neat.

I thought about that.
