This came up on another thread and it was suggested that the plaintiff was not particularly credible. This could be why the MSM hasn't taken the issue up.* To be honest if there was much to it (or even a tiny bit to it) it would be all over DKos, and I don't think they've had much to say about it. Something doesn't add up here.

[*Could also be because nothing in this is new as such, so it doesn't qualify as "news"; unlike the Comey thing which is a sudden and unexpected development. I realise I'm being very generous to the MSM here.]

Actually, Josh Marshall puts it pretty well: "I take it as a given that most things you hear in the final days of a brutal election are either not true, unsubstantiated or wildly overblown."

I guess there just isn't sufficient corroboration for the MSM to run with it. If there was a witness willing to talk about it, that might be another matter.

Ah, here we go: http://www.snopes.com/2016/06/23/donald-trump-rape-lawsuit/

Thrown out by a Californian court in April. Nothing to see here.

Just because the Californian court threw it out, that doesn't mean it's a nothingburger.

I agree, I'm just trying to establish why the MSM are ignoring it.

Still can't help feeling the media will find a way to blame Clinton for this.

I still think this story is BS, but it's interesting that parts of the media are just beginning to show a slight interest in it. Even if they're talking about it to knock it down, they're talking about it.

(Worth noting that if it's not BS, Trump has done a terrible, terrible thing and our first thought should not be about how it affects the election. But, as I say, it doesn't pass the smell test to me.)

There's nothing here, unfortunately.

This is not the sort of thing a person should hope is true.

Quite right. The hunger for this to come out is exactly the sort of thing we'd expect from the Trump campaign. Go high, people, remember?
