I'd love to see Salazar emerge as the nominee but I'm pretty sure the primary will be won by some dullard like Weiser.

And yeah, I imagine that whoever gets the Dem. nod defeats Coffman fairly comfortably. Colorado in 2018 is going to be a bloodbath for Republicans.

Weiser is hands-down the best candidate in the race, so hopefully he'll be the nominee.  Plus Salazar has made some problematic comments about rape that – while just awkwardly worded in-context – could easily be twisted in an out-of-context attack ad to make him sound like he was saying women don't know when they're being raped.

Talking about rape and not sounding like an idiot is tough for most politicians, for some reason, even well meaning ones

Yes, and don't get me wrong, I do think Salazar meant well.  Even so, against a female candidate in an AG race, it'd sink him.  On the other hand, Weiser's a solid candidate who'd probably narrowly beat Coffman.
