Nah, treating them like dogs*** on the bottom of your shoe is a far more socially just and effective political strategy. Like she said, the problem with Democrats is that they aren't Republican enough. Obviously, she and those who think like her (which is very common), want Democrats to compete with Republicans to see who can be more callous towards human suffering.
I agree with you that democrats should avoid callousness on moral grounds, but let us stop pretending that the majority of Trump voters care about being constantly insulted in the long run. If Trump can win Iowa after calling the majority of it's Republicans stupid there is no reason to suspect that it will harm democraits in any meaningful way.
