Not enough Remain territory left, I am afraid. Leave should be given advantage.

Neither of which can exist without globalization.
Liberty simply cannot prevail where power is monopolized.

Of course. But globalization is the one effective tool against the monoply power that we have!
Globalization IS the monopoly.

No. Globalization is the space for the competition. Without globalization we are sold lock, stock and barrel to local monopolies, which can do anything they want with us. It is globalization that allows competition: both political and economic.

I would think, stay, but barely.

I won't argue this any further. Local monopolies continue to exist. Why? The local monopolies (aka multinationals) gain and maintain power through globalization in their collusion with other multinationals to rig the systems so that they may continue to survive. Globalization is their platform.

Nonsense, completely at odds with observable facts.

So according to David Cameron I should expect a nuclear winter soon

I do fully expect it. Brexit will only be a minor contributor, but it will contribute.

Milton Keynes for Leave. A 50-50 model had it going for Stay.

But this one is nearly even. Still, not good.

ITV said earlier that folks in Washington going to reevaluate their European priorities, could see a future of closer relations with Berlin, Paris, and Brussels while distancing itself from London. RIP special relationship.

Good thing Obama is out in a couple months.  Whoever wins in November, we're going to have a President who actually respects the special relationship.  I expect a free trade deal with the UK to be worked out post haste.

Trump is against free trade deals of any kind, and why would Clinton prefer England to Germany?

More scaremongering from the remain camp.  President Clinton might try to pull such a stunt, but a President Trump would most certainly not.

Yeah, he would destroy US relationships uniformly.

The fat lady is about to sing.

No, we are seeing the new beginning.

Of a pretty short agony.

Merkel is seeing her dream of a fourth Reich crumble before her eyes

Merkel might be better off with England out. At least, she will be able to fashion EU more to her (and German) liking. But for most of the rest this world will be, definitely, worse place to live in.

Pound is collapsing. Great time to visit the UK!

It is the dollar that is skyrocketting. Every other currency is in the free fall.

Edinburgh:
Remain - 187,796 (74.4%)
Leave - 64,498 (25.6%)

But together with other declarations, Leave margin has actually grown to nearly 400K!

That's gonna make it even harder to pay for the wall.

Ah, that would be paid for in a different currency. We will all, on both sides, just die to do it.

Ok, finished.

I think we can declare at this point.

This will, of course, mostly, be a disaster for England (and whoever choses to stay with it). For the rest of us, it is just a minor thingy: perhaps, one month less of peace before the WW3. Still, it would have been a nice month.

Fearmonger, as always.

Fear means there is some uncertainty. In this case, there is no uncertainty, so there is nothing to fear. The right word here is horror.

LOL, so much drama.

No drama whatsoever. You cannot have a drama, where everybody knows how it will end with certainty.

Congratulations to all those who are no doubt delighted: Putin shills, PRC bots, trots, fascists, Nazis, reprobates, people who plan on being dead in the next year, anti-Semites etc

This.

I do not congratulate such people.

Re the possibility of a second Scottish referendum, remember that Mariano Rajoy still hasn't gone away, and I doubt he'll look any more kindly on the prospect of a secessionist state joining the EU than he did in 2014.

Also, on the topic of the Pound, as most posters should be aware, a dramatically fluctuating currency in response to an event like this is no sign that the economy will instantaneously collapse. That said, perhaps our moronic government shouldn't have stoked the hysteria that if we did vote to leave that is exactly what would happen so much, given the very real possibility, as shown tonight, that we would vote to do so.

Well, Scottish referendum will take time. Enough for the Spaniards to get rid of Rajoy Smiley

Today´s currency oscillations by themselves are not a problem - only a symptom. The government was completely right in describign exactly what would happen: except it was trying to calm things down and was not telling all. In any case, it will be a new government that will have to deal with the mess. Hopefully, Farage gets the job.
