Mine, as stated before, was just a result of things piling on me one after the other.  I reached my breaking point.  It's a sign of strength for a man to cry and say "I can't do it alone", not a sign that a mental health expert needs to be called in.

For just crying?  No, there's no need to call one in for that.  For a completely sef-destructive lifestyle that will kill you before you're 40, yes, there's a need.

Since I'm looking in two different cities, I want to wait until I get my employment settled so in case my pastor wants to schedule follow-up visits.

Jeff, you're just making excuses now.  You know you have time to schedule this stuff.  Your job hunt hasn't stopped you from taking naps and watching dozens of hours of TV.  You're embarrassing yourself by putting forward this argument that you're too busy.

And I'd still like to hear your answer to why you do not want to see a psychiatrist or professional therapist.  It can't simply just be "Because I don't need to."  There must be something more.  You go to the dentist periodically, even when you don't have cavities; you get your bloodwork checked frequently, even though you don't have diabetes.  So why is this different?  I don't understand your strong insistence against just going and talking with someone who's trained in this stuff.

I'll be completely honest with my pastor.  I am honest on Facebook, and that's what I'll tell him and more.

Where are you reading that I'm too busy?  I am not in any way using that excuse.  I'm just saying that in case he wants to follow up with me and is in a different city, I don't have to travel 100 miles each way to see him once a week or whatever it is.

Plus, I DO NOT NEED TO SEE A PSYCHIATRIST.  I am not mentally ill like you seem to suggest.  I do take that offensively, because it is offensive to me.  The pastor is as good as you're going to get. So, just, SHUT UP!!!

And this is why he will never get his life in order. Seeing a psychiatrist or psychologist doesn't mean you're mentally ill. You see them to work through things. My parents have seen them. I have seen them during their divorce. It felt better to talk to someone who was unbiased and did not have a dog in the fight and someone who could give me advice.

Because all of my family has seen people at some point or another, does that mean we are all mentally ill?

Bingo. He equates seeing someone as an admission of being a mental nut job.  I guess I'm one too.

What? 5-10 minutes? I've never talked to a psychiatrist who talked to me for less than 30 minutes, sometimes an hour.

For me, psychologist. 1 hour every 2 weeks. The woman was a miracle worker.

Isn't part of why Papa had to drive to Tulsa was to retrieve the medicine you forgot?

......  indeed.

Dude, why are you tagging along on Papa and Mama's romantic weekend getaway?   You're not 10.

Maybe because I was invited?

Or the hissy fit about KC last week prompted the invitation.  It's just weird.

Enjoyable Friday dinner? RIP Bushie Family.

But seriously, where are you guys eating? Please don't say a chain restaurant.

Friday night, I'm not sure.  Saturday night, probably the Blue Corn Café in Santa Fe.

It might as well be a chain.  Their menu and Chili's might looks awfully close.

Blue Corn Cafe is great. They brew their own beers. Too bad you guys don't drink.

I prefer Rio Chama Steakhouse, which is a more upscale version with the same ownership, but I wouldn't want to do that to Papa and Mama's bank account.

Why not meet up with Bushie and Papa and Mama?

I'm home from the interview.  I did find out that I was turned down for the job in OKC, not due to lack of skill, but due to abundance of applications.  The interview here in Tulsa went very well.  It was only a 10-15 minute meeting with the HR Manager, but I should have further word on that job by the end of the week.  This confirms that I will need to keep my phone on while we're driving to ABQ this Friday.  I am going to stay in my interview clothes for a while longer just in case something unexpected pops up the remainder of the afternoon.  I am going to leave here at 1800 for the fellowship.  When I get back tonight, I am going to do Week 11 of the Real-Life Discipleship Training that we will cover tomorrow night at church.  There is a potential that I may have another interview tomorrow or Thursday for a 4-month temporary position in Tulsa that would take me through February.

Dude leave your phone on 24-7 and adjust the settings for sound only.  Ugh

And, another interview Thursday at 1000!!!

Lief - I keep looking, but I can't find any that would suit me.

Because he can't stand for more than 30 minutes and retail requires much more standing than that.

I'm concerned that Bushie seems to be bombing all of these interviews.  2 more today, kaput.    I suspect they'd give a job to anyone who is breathing, yet Bushie's not getting anything.  Something's strange here.

If you're making $0/hour, how can you be picky and say you'll only work for $11 an hour?

Eastern NM really is hell on Earth, Grumps. If it were me, I'd have packed an ice chest with some food for the drive.

Something tells me if there were 5 diners and a DQ all with 5 miles of each other, the Klan Bushie would opt for the DQ.........fugh.

EDIT - I was right, he's in VEGA TX  http://www.urbanspoon.com/n/301/45548/Texas/Vega-TX-restaurants#/n/301/45548/Texas/Vega-TX-restaurants

It's so sad, because in the Southwest you will undoubtedly drive by a bunch of cool little Mexican places that are so out of the way that you will only get a couple chances to ever eat there.  No, no, no the Clan Bushie will drive far and wide to find a McDonald's or something and get some real food!

What do you think the dynamic is like when Bushie, Mom, and Dad stop in at a restaurant to eat?  Does Mama Bushie scold Our Dear Friend as she would when he was a little tike to settle down?

See the link 2 posts back.

The Texas Panhandle and Eastern New Mexico are basically arid emptiness with the occasional ornery white person. So alas, DQ and McDonalds are probably all the Bushies are going to come across.

I'm loving this trip liveblog.

"15 Miles From Lunch" is a new fave.

Yes! Eraserhead, this would be a great title for next season.

I so don't get the leave at 6 AM so Dad can be rested thing.

You heartless prick. Papa has to drive all the way home. The man works 60 hours a week, takes care of the north 40, run every singe family errand, take care if two dogs, etc...and you wonder why he needs to rest?  I need to rest just typing what Papa does.
