I'd love to see Andy Manar run.

Madison County Regional Superintendent of Schools Robert “Bob” Daiber is running for Governor as a Democrat. He’s the 2nd Southern Illinoisan (aka South of I-72) to consider running (Manar and now Daiber).

Daiber represents my home county as Schools Superintendent for the county's school districts.

The pick of Litesa Wallace as Biss's ticketmate is a sound one.

My county, Madison, had a caucus to determine whether to have an endorsement or not.

Results, via Madison County Dems' Facebook:

Hometown guy Bob Daiber came really close to the 50%+1 for endorsement, but the 22 from Biss in East Alton likely kept either Daiber or Pritzker from getting the endorsement.

My observation: I was at the East Alton caucus, and that location had the only place in the county where Biss's votes were counted due to the 20% viability threshold.  I was on Team Biss/Wallace.

Were Biss voters pushed in any direction? I know CK had his people push supporters to Daiber in order to block a Pritzker endorsement.
I'd imagine Biss voters either went undecided or to Daiber.

Precinct report:
I voted in Nameoki Township, Precinct 5 (Madison County). I was the 47th voter there, at close to 1:30 or so.

I took the usual Democratic ballot and voted for Biss for Governor, Quinn for AG, Kelly for IL-12 Congressman, wrote-in Chris Miller for Madison County Treasurer, YES on the 1-cent sales tax, and all the Dems uncontested.

Why Quinn if I may ask? He seems to me like only candidate who could lose statewide come November.
Why I voted Quinn?

- Strong consumer rights advocate for Illinoisans.
- Stands up to 45’s divisive policies.
- expanded voting rights in Illinois.
- improved health care access for Illinoisans during his term.
- got marriage equality signed into law in 2013.

Daniel Biss was my candidate that I campaigned and voted for, but since he lost to JB Pritzker, I will happily endorse Pritzker in the general to boot out Rauner or keep Ives out of there.

Update on this race: Democratic Gubernatorial nominee JB Pritzker (D) has received the endorsement of fellow challenger and State Senator Daniel Biss (D) for the November general against incumbent Bruce Rauner (R).

I voted for Biss in the primary, and I am all-in on Pritzker in the general this November. Let's get Rauner out of there!

Eh, he's just playing to lose by ten instead of 25 at this point.

Safe D

Or he's playing to deny the Libertarians and/or Conservative Party official party status at this point.
