I think he respects and likes me well enough, but our paths don't often cross, since he's naturally more interested, and highly knowledgable and articulate about it all to boot, about doings across the pond.

We get along I think, and he thinks I'm reasonable enough. I don't recall any post where he dumped on me at least.

I think he thinks I'm OK, maybe on the wrong side of "history" as to the Update Thread, thereby showing "fascist" tendencies, and maybe ideologically a bit too "statist" overall, but on the plus side of the ledger among the Forum population. This assumes this particular young still has the same ideology this month as he did last month, or six months ago, or whatever.

Kal has always been unfailing kind to me personally, and overly generous and supportive of my act around here publicly. So I think he likes and respects me, or is a really, really good "method" actor.

I think he respects me well enough, but probably has the impression that my "silver spoon" upbringing has blinded me to this and that, and colored my judgment into errancy - or something like that.

I have zero idea. Sure, I am more in sync with his points of view up to a point perhaps than a majority of posters here, but then I'm old, and have some authority, and am part of the bourgeoisie establishment (not a libertarian), and Sanchez's given his stage of life, he has something of a mission to resist. I did too at his age. It's normal! (The fact that I am clueless about youth culture doesn't move the ball forward much, either.) But I think he thinks I am more or less a decent human being - for an old.

He finds me interesting. He thinks I tell the truth. He thinks I am a good man. He understands that how I weight the competing considerations is sometimes different from his, but does not think that leaves me wanting in the eyes of his God. Nathan is a wise kid, and maybe overly generous in his assessment of me. Oh, he probably thinks I am a bit too hedonistic and dissipated or something. We all have our character flaws.
