Those states are not claiming to be drawn in a nonpartisan fashion!   How thick do you have to be to not get this distinction?

Anytime someone on this site agrees with Republicans about anything, they are deemed a GOP hack.

This isn't only about the CA thread. This is a overall impression about Torie. I recall him for instance drawing an OHIO map where the democrats would have got only 4 districts and saying it was a fair map.

To which Ohio map that I drew are you referring?  Let's get the map up first, and then I will comment.  Thing is, that I am aware of no such map that I drew where I claimed 1) the Dems would net only four seats ( as opposed to 4 in the bag with other seats within easy reach, or realistic reach), and 2) was "fair" in the sense that it tried to hew to Muon2's metrics. The thing is, is that in so many states, to get a map where the Dems get a share of the seats that matches their statewide percentages, one has to gerrymander in favor of the Dems to get there. That's because the Dems tend to packed in high concentrations in inner city CD's. You draw those hewing to appropriate governmental entity line subdivisions, and voila, a lot of surplus Dems reside within them, in 20% or more Dem PVI CD's. And suddenly the remaining terrain, becomes a much more friendly Pub playground.
