Hopefully this will tank Palin  -  permanently. One of the main reasons I voted for Obama, although not the only reason, is that I did not like the off the cuff way McCain picked her as a running mate. It was well - reckless. That is not what we need in a POTUS.

People on the forum attacked me when I initially suggested that Palin might lack knowledge of some national and international issues (I initially gave the far more reasonable items of the difference between Sunnis and Shi'ites and Biden's plan of dividing Iraq into three countries).

Some of this is surely finger-pointing and sniping, but I feel vindicated (with Palin's initial shutout from the press the Couric interview confirming).

Not this particular poster. I had an open mind as to whether she would be a quick study or not, but well, that question was answered rather early on, wasn't it?  She doesn't like to do her homework, and it might have been futile anyway.

Palin didn't make McCain lose the election.

But still, yikes.

She was something of a drag in my area of the world, but it was not decisive. McCain's shortcomings were more decisive.
