One big unwritten rule with all these survivors is that you can't tell voters how they should vote, or even influence them Grin
They vote as they like.

You've got the rnadom voters. They were surfing among the different boards and they pick your topic, vote once and never come back...

You've got a small bunch who just put the mess (they usually don't like "specialized" survivors and they don't vote regularly).

You've got some who vote in the first round and who come back at the end to decide the winner, irrespectfully of all the votes casted before by regular voters...

You've got a new species, the ballot stuffing voters, just to please some people's big personal wish to win forever... It has to be confirmed, though...

And you've got the regular voters (Hashemite, Edu, Hans, Kalwejt, Nhoj, you now, me; Gully Foyle picks the survivors he's interested in; more or less, Hughento; PiT and maybe Lewis are a bit tired now, it seems; Kuntakinte isn't really regular; Xahar has always been erratic; Al, GMantis are no longer seen).
They are divided in different groups or even change their voting trend with the survivors:

- the leftists, far less powerful recently, always voting on political grounds (rightists don't vote usually in survivors - I don't talk about "libertarians", who aren't rightists and who vote only where they are said to vote or only in US survivors)

- the democracy fanatics, who vote only on this criteria

- the "history" voters, who try to vote out of historical importance or "fun"

- the patriot voters, who try to push their "nationals" or their neighbours.

But, please note that most of the regular voters mix all those criterias.
Even Hans has helped us saving Manstein until the end Grin
Even me, I've voted for Beria on "democratic" grounds Grin

Sometimes, votes are purely tactical, to save another name.
Sometimes, you have to be rude with friends (see my vote for Vargas in Hashemite's survivor... Sad).

But it's impossible to tell the survivor fans how they should vote.
In my 20th century "history makers" survivor, I wanted people to vote outof historical importance. But that may have ended with Hitler winning. Of course, he was ousted in the first round Wink.

Bouteflika is often criticized, but he has really appeased Algeria. It wasn't easy and he wasn't so bad.

My criteria now is that one should see if the dictator has been a plus or a minus for his country.
Therefore even Chavez shouldn't win.
I could have "protected" Raul one year ago, but he has been highly disappointing recently...

Different criterias are what make this interesting Wink

Also, even with that criteria there are worse names left than Chavez (dos Santos and Kibaki to name a few).

You're right about Kibaki, he should go soon enough.
Dos Santos, it's more debatable and I prefer him than Chavez, for sure.

As I've already said, Chavez is an "asymptotic" dictator, is setting a dictatorship "on the way": he is continuously nearing a dictatorship, but never reaches it, just to be sure he is alaways able to keep a support...
He's very clever for this: each year brings a bad step, he's ever closer to a dictatorship but he never institutes a total dictatorship...
