Finally we agree on something.

Poor Olmert. He tried to use the Lebanon War to establish his security credentials. He didn't have the same military background that Ariel Sharon did, so he went in guns blazing to prove himself. Sadly, he didn't achieve his goal.

I think Olmert's approval problems began when the guns stopped blazing.  He listened to the "world" and handed the terrorists a percieved victory.

The terrorists' perceived victory had nothing to do with Olmert stopping to bomb the crap out of Lebanon, destroying airports, schools, warehouses, residential areas, etc, in the vain hope that it might somehow get Hezbollah (they clearly had neither a plan nor any idea where Hezbollah militia were hiding) and killing thousands innocents, but because the military campaign had ZERO effect on Hezbollah's military capabilities.
