I support this bill on a men's rights basis, not on a "pro-life" (a meaningless word these days) basis.

-Better argument than the usual.

You don't need to emphasize the fact that you despise all life (and not in the cool, edgy "I woke up and hated myself today" way, either).

-I don't hate myself. I like myself quite a bit, actually. Neither do I despise all life -I love life. I wish we could all be immortal. Yes, even people as horrible as John McCain. I want to see America made great again, and that requires human life to accomplish.

Is that how I'm supposed to pronounce your name? E. Harding not Eh-arding?

-Yes.

Oh I see now. You've been referring to hardness of your skull all that time Smiley

-No; the name comes from President Harding.

NATO is the last foothold of liberal democracy in the world.

it was without merits before putin made a war-loving imperialist religious superpower out of his country, whose only goal seems to be destroying the EU.

today either you support the NATO or you think defending democracy can be done with words and contracts alone.

-NATO defends militant Islam, not democracy.

You also seem to misunderstand Russian goals badly.

-Name me a time since 1992 that it actually did something while not defending militant Islam.

Iran, Iraq, and Syria are fighting ISIS, which gives them points in my book. Switzerland isn't part of the E.U. and has many referendums, which I like. The Baltics are there for the same reasons Cahcon points out, plus they keep unjustifiably fearmongering about Russia. Germany, Sweden, North Korea, and Cuba are all on there for the same reason: their governments keep shooting their people in the foot. The Philippines is there because of Duterte flipping off Obama.

You really should think about moving to Russia. You are completely out of step with our country.

-Check who won in last year's elections.

What the f**k could you possibly know.

Seriously, are you aware of what happened in Eastern Europe?

Personally, I disagree with these laws, but "unjustifiably fearmongering" is a testimony to your ignorance.

-Kalwejt, I know what's going on very well. Russia has zero concern over the Baltics. Their population is shrinking (unlike RU's), they're tiny, their soil is barren, their population is hostile to Russian rule, their language is foreign, and they're protected by NATO. Russia would have more interest in taking Alaska or Finland than the Baltics.

Somaliland is there because it has avoided many of the errors of other African countries, especially on the Somali peninsula. It has a reasonable electric grid, it isn't in a state of civil war, and its structure of government has avoided the descent into dictatorship so common among African states.

Russia is viewing former Soviet Republics as their natural sphere of influence or, at the very least, not a western one. No, I don't think Russia would literally "take" anything, but geopolitical realies are more complex than "just taking the land".

-NATO members are almost by definition within the US sphere of influence.

Leading questions.

I doubt 70% of the general public even know who Jeff Sessions is and the percentage of Black people would be even lower, since they tend be less well educated.

Truth is, Blacks do appreciate the Democratic Party. That is shown when they vote 90% Democrat. Why wouldn't they appreciate the Democrats? Blacks disproportionately enjoy the benefits of America's limited welfare state, which is means tested specifically to target them.

It's non-Blacks who should fell left behind.

-Politically incorrect, but mostly true.

But that's an actual thing

Only as much as the Clinton Body Count.

Only Trump could have brought in millions of first time voters and flipped the WCWs in the Great Lakes region.

-Mixed opinion of this. I don't think any other candidate could have won Ohio by 8 points, but I do think other candidates could have easily won Ohio by some smaller margin.

Can I just add "everything EnglishPete has ever said on this forum"?

-EnglishPete is one of the best posters here. Almost on Michael Tracey's level of sheer common sense.

The VRA is nothing more than a money making machine for trial lawyers. If Paul Ryan had any sense, he should stand for its immediate repeal.

It may be a far better use of resources to just assume whatever eharding is posting is awful, but here's for special one for the archives.

-Look at its actual consequences today. That's what it is. Seriously, placing more power into the hands of arbitrary judges' whims is a very bad thing. It's good for the trial lawyers, but for nobody else. Not even the judges.

And yet you still don't get why I put that here.

-Yes; I'm more than aware of the voting restrictions placed by the governments of Louisiana and Mississippi before the VRA. I'm also more than aware of they haven't existed for over half a century, and will never return, VRA or not.

I know for a fact I've never experienced day-long power outages in Russia. Several times in the U.S.!
The weather is far far far FAR FAR FAR more extreme in the U.S. than in Russia.  The vast majority of Russians live in a very mild, temperate climate where the only real weather story is the persistent near freezing temperatures that make everything slushy and disgusting for months.

-Tell that to Hitler's and Napoleon's forces. Obviously false. RU's not Ukraine, where the weather really is mild and tempered by the Black Sea.

He explicitly mentioned near-freezing temperatures.

-That's also false; temperatures in most of the inhabited parts of RU are below 0 degrees C in the winter.

It's true tornadoes are less frequent, but blizzards are common enough.
