What do they have at the delta cafe anyway? I feel like most of the places you eat have the same menu items?
We have this chain in Memphis, except that here it's called the Dixie Cafe. Once per month my mother and all her old lady friends get together there and spend hours there, hogging some poor waitress's section all afternoon and leaving a miserly tip. It's old people food. Lots of greasy, fried options. Bland, overcooked mushy veggies. Ultra refined carbohydrates and margarine around every corner. It's amazing to hear of somebody under 60 going there.

I knew you like Big Brother, but I didn't know you liked it that much. My goodness!

32 years old and has religious guilt about brief relaxations. UnInksingbelievable! Bushie, we're all here on this planet for a quick stay. Have some fun before it's time to lie in a box. Don't torture yourself. You can't win that battle.

I think old fashioned sitcoms do far more to inflate expectations about family life than porn does. Plenty of people have wild sex lives, but nobody gets to live like the Huxtables.
Also, is this the first confirmation Bushie has given that Allison gave him sexual releases?

So ice cream is the antidote to the chocolate headaches? Better keep plenty of it in the freezer just in case you need it. Sort of like a delicious epi pen. What sort of ice cream do you like, Bushie? My favorites are blueberry cheesecake and mint chocolate chip.

I remember in previous seasons he mentions playing a game called Wahoo.

Guys, chill out about the headache. He also had ice cream, which is the delicious antidote to the chocolate cake's sinister ways.

I remember when lunchables were first introduced. I was a small child, but even then I was shocked that somebody could eat a few crackers, a cut up piece of turkey, and a cut up piece of cheese as lunch. It's not even enough food for a kid, much less an adult. I can't believe they've been successful.

I'm sincerely interested in the history of the American diet. It wasn't all that long ago that there were no fast food places and no Lunchables. Bushie and the rest of his ilk would have subsisted primarily on ground corn and suffered from nutritional deficiencies like rickets and scurvy rather than diabetes and obesity. It's all a very interesting story, but I'm unaware of any comprehensive popular history of food. It would make a great read!

The weight is such a sad thing. Though I weigh more than 100 lbs less than Bushie, I really relate to Bushie on this one. Growing up on fast food and without any common knowledge about what food should look like is such a common experience in America. If not for an immigrant grandmother and a few foodie friends, I could easily see myself in his shoes. Household skills like sewing and cooking have severely eroded so quickly. Granted, in true American form, we still idolize the overacheivers like Martha Stewart, but there's no longer an implicit sense of value in everybody, or at least somebody in every household doing the basics. Come on, America. You can do this. It's not that hard.

Cooking is a dying thing? People around here love to cook. Food is part of our culture in Charleston. Good food at that.

I've visited Charleston, and I agree you guys have a good food scene. You even have a local low country style of food heavy on rice and seafood.  What's really amazing to me is that per google, there is only one McDonalds location on the peninsula, right next to the Ashley River and a number of hotels. Perhaps the Charleston people are as food conscious as you say. That's not typical in America though. Google informs me there are about 40 McDonald's locations in Oklahoma County, OK. In the whole country, there are over 14,000. Yes, in any city you'll find people who like to cook and who have a talent for it. It's not such an uncommon thing. But we're not where we were a few decades back when it didn't take somebody with a particular interest in food to know how to make spaghetti without assistance. An extraordinary number of people today simply don't have a clue about food and, as you point out in Bushie's case, don't care much to either. After all, dinner is just as far as a quick trip through the drive through.

How many hours a week does Bushie spend either watching this awful Brother show or in church? Seems like every day those two things are on the agenda

Bushie went to a dietician a few times several seasons ago. It didn't really take. As one who is very concerned about obesity in America, I'd like to see some real data on what is effective for defatting people. We have a zillion dollar diet industry, but it's all before and after salesmanship. Surely, the CDC or somebody has actual information on what works and what doesn't?

BTW - does anyone find it hilarious that he's going from a happy-clappy-literalist church, to come home and watch Big Brother?
I'm not familiar with the show. Does it feature shenanigans of which Jesus would not approve?

If Eskimo Joe can cook, than so can Bushie!

Procrastination on buying pots, pans, and other "cooking gear" is probably another reason he hasn't touched his oven/stove either.
I have never known Bushie to procrastinate when it comes to purchases. He usually runs right out and buys all sorts of things he never uses. Whatever happened with the USPS guide scam?

Good Tuesday Morning!  I slept very well for 8 hours last night.  My headache is still there, though it's down to a Grade 3-4.  Regardless, I'm looking forward to Day 12 at work.  I'm excited about what kind of progress I can make today.  I'm going to try to make this the best day, yet.  Tonight is another night to relax.  I will be getting off at 1630 and will probably watch some baseball as the feature presentation.
You once said that you're always at a 3 minimum. So today is as good as it gets.

Good Wednesday Morning!  I had a good night's sleep and now I'm ready to begin Day 13.  This promises to be a good day.  My headache is quite low right now and I feel good.  Tonight is Week 3 of Discipleship Training at church from 1830-2000.

Dare I even ask what this is?
A holdover from his days at that call center full of those people no doubt.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gangster_Disciples

Last time on Update:
Good Tuesday Evening!  This was by far the best day I've had in the first 12 days of work!!  Nothing went wrong and I mean NOTHING!!  I didn't have any major corrections, just very, very minor cosmetic stuff and even that was few in number.  After lunch, I got the honor of doing a few projects directly from the owner.  The owner who has been drafting since 1959, 23 years before I was born, asked me, who has been drafting professionally for 2 1/2 weeks to do a couple projects for him!!  I was honored!!  I got the two projects correct the first time!!  I am going to add to the second project when I get in tomorrow.
Bushie, do you have the bipolar?

Bushie, what is the style of worship at your church? Do you prefer hymnals or projection graphics? Have you had a chance to love on any Tulsa children?

Mangoes are rather advanced for a man of Bushie"s limited culinary capacity. They have both a rind and a large pit. They are messy and stringy bits always get lodged in the teeth. He needs something he can just eat, like grapes.

A girl is a her, Bushie. Not an it. You wouldn't reject her. And nobody is going to deliver a girlfriend to you on a silver platter. But don't give up on yourself if that's something you want. Nobody at church catch your eye?

Most people have four failed relationships by high school graduation. If your feeling are still hurt about Allison, that's fair enough, but don't beat yourself up about having a few exes. They were just for practice anyway.

My plans are really starting to take shape with the notion of being single for life.

What?! A confirmed bachelor? Are you gay?
It's ok if you are. Don't let the many years of psychological abuse from your church force you into being ashamed and in denial.

31% of Oklahomans are obese, so while Bushie is no doubt heavier than average, he's not that far from the norm in his state.
The threshold for obesity at 5'8 is about 200 lbs.
