Well that sort of defeats the whole purpose of the True Meaning thing, doesn't it?  Otherwise what's the point of all these children's holiday special programs?  Be of good cheer and all that.


Ugh, that's one of the most overrated Christian doctrines, "love thy enemy."  I say, as much as love my family and friends and acquaintances and future friends, some people are awful and they can all go to hell. 

I always thought Conan the Barbarian had it right when he said, "Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women. "
Years ago, one of my coworkers was a crusty old ex-Marine. He had a particular distaste for his daughter's boyfriend. He was telling me how the Marines taught him that it's not enough to kill your enemy. You have to kill the enemy's entire family in order to neutralize the threat altogether. I'm not sure that that's official Marine policy, but that's what he said. It made an impression on me.
