Perhaps Arpaio will jump into this race now. I'd imagine Ward would step aside for him.

McCain doesn't even need to die for there to be a special election in 2018, 2020, or even 2019. Resigning to commit himself to fighting his diagnosis would be a very reasonable thing to do, as it would be for any Democrat in a similar situation. (Even if Ted Kennedy didn't.)

Don't Senators prefer to die with their boots on? Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, and Frank Lautenberg come to mind.

Can Joe Arpaio PLEASE run for senate? It would be a slam dunk for Sinema.

Can Donald Trump PLEASE run for president? It would be a slam dunk for Hillary.

You underestimate how much Arizonans loathe Joe Arpaio. Trump had a narrow window to victory and managed to slide through; as an Arizonan, I can very confidently promise you that the walking political Chernobyl that is Joe Arpaio does not.

Donald Trump was less popular on election day than Barry Goldwater, so I assume Hillary crushed him.

Lyndon Johnson had a 75% approval rating, what was Hillary's again?

Where is Greg Stanton? I thought he was talked about as one of the top Democratic candidates for this seat. Was I wrong? Because I've barely heard anything about him for months.

Around 70%.

She's a great candidate and faces dire opponents, I would be really shocked if she doesn't win
