^ I've pretty much accepted that the Democrats will do great at the state and local level while blowing it at the federal level in House and Senate races. Why? Because the DCCC and the overall Party apparatus are so insulated in their bubbles that they're ignorant and have no idea what's going on in this country. This is why the media thought the Democrats were united behind Clinton and the GOP was in a civil war with Trump. They assumed the Party officials feelings represented how the base of each respective Party felt; and they were dead wrong. The national Democrats are just gonna continue to throw mud with the Russia investigation and hope it sticks. They have no interest articulating any kind of message that people want to hear and will choke when the midterms hit.

Local and state level Democrats will be much more in tune with their constituents; and their campaigns will be far more successful. They can tailor their message and not worry about their race becoming nationalized which would galvanize the GOP to turnout. The national level Democrats on the other hand are easily on track to squander a golden opportunity for House pickups in 2018 and will lose more than a couple seats in the senate.
