Of course as a Chinese American I would be offended by this specifically, but the apology makes it even more like a "slap in the face of all non-Caucasians."

Actually, the owner of the company seems to be a dirtbag in general.

He has his own wiki page, sued hundreds of his customers, and has been charged with harassing customers, among many other things.

For what it's worth, UIUC has officially condemned the ad, so good for them.

Also remember that UIUC is the same university where a Chinese international student got killed because she missed the university shuttle.
