What do you think people should do to persuade voters to share their views if they're not running a a political campaign?

Persuasion is the art of winning friends and influencing people.  People will tend to align their views with yours if you are able to come across as agreeable and affable.  Being overly combative is a good way to turn people off to your argument, no matter the substance.
make compelling arguments in support of your cause, but don't be a douche about it
Living up to your ideals. If you’re a conservative who preaches the sanctity of marriage and the importance of charity over government programs, but you cheat on your wife and never donate or volunteer for charities, people are going to look at you as a hypocrite.
All good points, but how do you get your words to be heard in the first place?
