I voted for "moderate heartland populist", but I think the "black or brown identity politics" candidate is being underrated here. I know that the phrase "identity politics" has a lot of negative stigma, but I think that in moderate doses it can be successful and will help convert AZ/GA/NC into true swing or leaning blue states. Do I think that focusing solely on this message is a winning strategy? Likely not. But I feel like the term "identity politics" is now mainly used by critics to demean anyone who makes an effort to reach out to any minority group. I think there is a healthy balance to be struck there.

I really don't think that many Bernie-esque democratic socialist candidates would really be all that successful, to be honest. I think there are still just too many moderate WWC people who are extremely turned off by the phrase "democratic socialism". Do I think that Bernie would've done better than Hillary? Probably, but just because Hillary was extremely unpopular. I also think Bernie is particularly genuine and that was a large part of why he could sell his policies so well among at least some of the WWC base, so a candidate who lacks that quality wouldn't be nearly as appealing.
