I recently met a cute 21-year old girl in my advanced business English seminar that I attended and we managed to talk a bit and found out that we both like snow sports. So I asked if we could go skiing, snowboarding or sledding at some point and she said she'd "let me know".

"let me know" probably means nothing and I rate the chances for this pretty low.

Anyway I'm pretty excited if she'd accept.

She also has her math exams coming up in June and she said she's pretty bad in math, while I'm not that bad. So, if we go skiing or something I might offer her some help with math and so on.

This is all pretty cool. But I'm likely fumbling it anyway ... Tongue

"I'll let you know" is generally not a good sign.

Yes, the prospects look grim given this response.

Yeah, I know.

Plus it even looks grimmer, because I don't even know if she has a boyfriend or not.

At least I thought it would be better to just ask her to do some winter sports together, rather than first asking her directly if she already has a BF or not.

I'm working on it ... Tongue

We had some small talk the past days and I told her that the front light of her car is broken. I now also know that she's studying some French lately.

I'll probably wait a week or so and ask her again about the offer.

(There's additional snowfall coming anyway this weekend, so the slope conditions will be better next week anyway).

Found out she's listening to Austrian country music a lot and even sings it herself.

That's absolutely horrible !

Hot and listening to that sh*t kind of music.

I need to re-think my plans.

EDIT: look at all these people in traditional clothes... people still wear these?

Yes, the traditional Dirndl is extremely hipster and cool these days among women from all ages.

[inappropriate segment expunged]

Besides: That's not sexist in any way (if you think so), it's the TRUTH. Ask Cranberry.

Because this is a fashion style (wanted by the women), you better not delete these pictures. Free speech etc. etc.

approximately ten closeup pictures of cleavage deleted

this is a family-friendly forum; come on man, some women in the US like to expose their cleavage as well but that doesn't mean posting pictures of it is acceptable or that it's not sexist

Holy crap, if a non-moderator had made that post....

Copyrighted images of big tits is verboten, good Lief.  Yep, RIP if it was one of us.

That's silly.

People here posted pictures of lederhosens and stuff and those are OK, but if I post pictures of a fashion style with covered (!) boobs, that's soooo baaad. MUST CENSOR & BAN !

No, you said:

Most young women also wear it because of the generous Ausschnitt, to attract attention and display their boobs so that they have a better chance at getting laid.

That was a) presumptive, b) dismissive, and c) insulting. The first part- about the decollete was fine, the part about the attention was rather harsh and the part about "getting laid" was, well, awful. If you had said:

Most young women also wear it because of the generous Ausschnitt which is in most cases rather, shall we say, flattering for them.

That would have been much better. Even better:

Yes, the traditional Dirndl is extremely hipster and cool these days among women from all ages.

But that? Yikes!

The wording was probably a bit overblown (not "most", but "some" or "many"), but I also have examples:

http://atv.at/wiener-geschichten/folge-2-vom-tierfriedhof-zum-wuerstelstand/d397544/

Don't know if you can watch it in the US, but the first 30 seconds of it.

Blonde chick in Dirndl: "We exclusively dressed ourselves that way to get the looks of guys".

Her friend: "We are here to get laid later tonight."
