except for 2004 when they jumped on the kerry bandwagon after he won in iowa.

That's my point.  Except for 2004 (which is all that a lot of this forum remembers well and was alive [and actually cared about politics] for) - most everybody else was in their early teens, and don't remember the 2000 election.
