I will try and act surprised as Trump gets away with denigrating welfare voters while Hilary Clinton was hounded for her deplorables remark.

I mean, denigrating people on welfare has been a Republican trademark since it was first created. Unfortunately, large swaths of the country share the same view of welfare recipients (and always have).

You're not wrong, but also not really the point. Republicans get to denigrate all types of voters and there's a shrug from the press. But if a Dem dare say anything close to that, it's a Defcon meltdown.
