I think Portman could be a frontrunner for VP again depending on who the nominee is. If he runs and does well on the campaign trail, that could be a boost for his chances. But I also have a hard time seeing him actually win the nomination.

Yeah, I've thought for awhile that Jeb is the weakest candidate the party establishment could put forward. While he has similar problems, at least Christie has some campaign talent and the aura of personality. And guys like Walker and Pence can appeal to the base without scaring the establishment.

Bluntly expressing support for things like immigration reform and Common Core while not caring whether the rank-and-file find that acceptable or not is not a recipe for success in a GOP primary nowadays.

I think Rubio could still run for either FL Governor or challenge Ben Nelson for his Senate seat in 2018. So even if he gives up his Senate seat for a Presidential run this time around, he still has oppurtunites for elected office that could position him a another run in the future if he loses now.
