I don't get the stuff about Wilson being a racist- sure, he was even more racist than the typical politician at the time, but the difference between him and the contemporary median was surely less significant between the contemporary median and what's acceptable today. Besides, he was a Democrat with Confederate roots.
As a president, he was the height of the progressive era. His Fourteen Points were a worldwide epic-historical event, raising the hopes of third world liberationists everywhere, not to mention being highly prophetic of the overthrow of imperialism, one of the most significant and wide-reaching developments of his century. His income tax, federal reserve, antitrust act, direction election of Senators, and late endorsement of women's suffrage fundamentally transformed the nation. Not to mention, he is the president who oversaw America's rise into the top position in the world. As far as foreign policy, he was a reasonable dove who kept America out of that horrid war for as long as he possibly could have. One of the best presidents of the 20th century, only a few, like TR, FDR, maybe Reagan rival him.
