Some polls in New Hampshire have already closed, apparently, according to MSNBC.

Well, that makes sense. There was only one competitive race in NH in 2004.

Most polls apparently close at 7.

According to the exit polls, Independent turnout is actually a smaller percent than it was in 2004.

As a percentage of overall turnout, or percent of Independents turning out?  Big difference in significance.

In 2004 48% of Democratic voters were Independents, this time exit polls indicate it will only be 40%.
Well, yeah. In 2004, all the independents voted in the Dem Primary. Now they're split between the two, so they'll comprise less of the Democratic vote.

Well, Obama's probably won in a landslide then. And Edwards will be lucky to stay above 15%.

Guys, it's waaaaay too early to start worrying. At this point in Iowa, Edwards was winning by 4 points, with Clinton in second and Obama way behind.

Er... doing the math, it looks like Obama and Clinton are basically tied.

This just doesn't make sense: huge turnout, large number of independents on the Democratic side, every single poll had Obama winning.

Huh

nickshepDEM's link says that Manchester releases results first, and Clinton should be doing well there. So we're still in it.

This is starting to parallel the Shea-Porter vs. Bradley race of 2006.
How?

Well, we can take some solace in the fact that Obama's areas haven't come in yet. But 6 points?! Gah.

The crying act really did it with women.  Well done Hillary.

Edwards' messed up reaction didn't help

He ed both himself and Obama.

The margin has held pretty steady since the beginning and the margin has grown out to 4200
I doubt it. That was barely covered at all.
