yes, he has the advantage any Democratic nominee would have in 2008 due to unpopular president, "wrong track" polls, IRAQ, Economy and Health Care all are creating strong movement to "change." 

However, Obama will get punished for a mistake more than he deserves (i.e. Jeremiah Wright). and the Republicans are simply better at "attack" campaigning.

The scrutiny on Obama because he is young, comparatively inexperienced and yes, because he is black make this difficult to anticipate or compare to previous elections.

Both candidates have aspirations to make significant changes to the electoral map. 

But, I think that Barack Obama is a phenom that will beat McCain.
