Any talk of Peter Meijer potentially running for this?

I believe Meijer has expressed interest in returning to the House or running for this Senate seat, but he'd be nonviable. If he can't win the primary in his very normie-GOP district, then I doubt he'd be successful in a statewide primary. I'd like to see him try though.

He came very close in his House primary and there have been some signs that the GOP electorate has somewhat cooled on Trump since (although the degree is very much disputed) I don't think Mejer would be DOA in either a House or Senate primary.

Not the worst pick, but the residency thing could be fodder.

At least he is doing this rather than running for president like he flirted with earlier this year.

Endorsed if he gets in. I fear he will struggle in a primary

Looks Like Meijer getting in. Would be a strong GE candidate should he get there. (primary will be difficult)

Super weird that this race has multiple solid to decent candidates but there is seemingly no one in WI

We already have a former representative of MI-3 who is anti-Trump, who I like but stands no chance in the primary. Why do we need need another?

Reminder that Meijer is also running on the GOP side. That's a division of not just the anti-Trumpist vote, but also the Grand Rapids Dutch/Religious/Old Guard conservatives. Without the party rolling over for one of them - not gonna happen with Rodgers - this just means mutually assured destruction.

Yeah I like both- which is terrible news for them in the primary.

Also does Rodgers (somehow) win the Trump lane here, by default?

Trump had to endorse someone and the other two major candidates, impeached him.

Just a very weird GOP primary given the state of the GOP party elsewhere.

I mean the Michigan GOP is in a very weird position at the moment. Oddities beget oddities.

Yes but Rodgers seems like the perfect fit for the Romney "old GOP." Given the state of the party in Michgan you would think this would be the swing state with a Kari Lake type instead of AZ
