Being human doesn't mean I want you in the US, using up taxpayers services. I see no reason why we should have open borders because illegals happen to be the same species as everyone else.

Unfortunately, this kind of hate is common and why such unjust laws exist.

It's not hate, it's practicality. We only have so many funds for social services. Why should illegal immigrants who in many cases pay no taxes have access to public education, welfare, etc.? I could understand providing them with emergency care, but really I see no reason why we should allow them to drain our resources. Especially now when our government literally can't afford to do much more to help the unfortunate. Stuff like this is exactly why Democrats and Progressives in particular get a bad name (though mercifully, many have the sense to recognize this).

That's really what I am trying to say, but unfortunately, emergency care was not one of the selectable options.  As I said in another thread, immigrants should register as citizens so they can enjoy the American dream of paying taxes like the rest of us.

Why? We have enough citizens. Although if you were willing to start deporting heartland whites to south africa I'd be perfectly willing to further open mexican immigration like you favor.

Fortunately with the bigotry and xenophobia becoming the norm in this country, level-headed people will move to other countries, like Canada or France (if they get their act together).  So there will be plenty of room.

Bigotry and xenophobia isn't the norm here.

Yeah, sorry it is.

No its not. How is it "bigotry and xenophobia" to support border enforcement?
I was not referring to border enforcement specifically, which should be encouraged.  I am referring to other remarks made here that imply xenophobia such as the suggestion that all immigration (even legal immigration at that!) should be ceased.  That is indeed the essence of xenophobia.
