Fine, then in order to prove it was me, I am claiming the write-in vote cast by Al.  It will be counted to me, since I'm the first to claim it.  If he protests, he was referring to me.  If he doesn't protest, then he voted for me.

So, my appointement of Franzl is null?

No.  You now need to appoint Franzl.

I was happy to be appointed, really. But I would be willing to give that up for a re-vote.
