If Kuwait were a coffee producer instead of a major oil producer, and Iraq invaded them, would Bush Sr. and Cheney have gone into Kuwait in the first Gulf War to oust the Iraqis?

Please discuss.
It depends.  Is this coffee producing Kuwait still next door to oil producing Saudi Arabia?  We didn't just do the first Gulf War for Kuwait's oil, we did it for the oil in all of the Arabian peninsula.  (not to steal it, just to keep it flowing)

Iraq was claiming Kuwait as a part of itself. Russia never claimed that Georgia was then part of Russia.
Correct, they were just claiming a large chunk of Georgian territory and nobody cared all that much.  It's different, sure, but only slightly.  I think the Sovi...errrr...Russians raped less than the Iraqis did too.  But Russians are a (slightly) more civilized people, so that's to be expected.
