Would Jesus count as a political leader?
- exercising a compelling charm that inspires devotion in others.
Hitler
Mohammed
I think that's probably the top...but maybe the willingness to murder for the person is playing too much a part in my thinking. Murdering for someone shows a lot of devotion...but probably not as much as suicide, so Mo tops Hitler I guess. And Mo has people doing it for him a thousand plus years later, Hitler fans are asshats, no doubt, but I don't think they kill themselves in his name very often.
There's plenty of leaders who inspired others to fight and die for them, not just Mohammed.
You sure you finished reading that? You noticed the "suicide" part right? Fighting, even in a lost cause, even if it means certain death is still different than walking on to a bus with a bomb in your backpack.
