If it makes Rowan feel worse, I would also totally abolish gender roles for my children. Giving boys dolls to play with, giving them the choice of male or female clothes to wear, among other things. Generally teaching them that they shouldn't believe in gender roles and do whatever they like, even if such a thing is traditionally an "opposite sex thing."

You know, society wouldn't like that. And what about when they are too young to choose?

This is why Virginia has such weird election results. I wonder what it would be like if Tim Kaine could have run for re-election this year instead of an entirely new set of candidates.

Kaine would not have been running for reelection; he'd probably be seeking to replace Mark Warner, who was reelected in 2005, or running for reelection after taking office in January, 2009, following Mark Warner's election as President.

It's disgusting if you ask me how these straight people always have to try to get the same rights as us. Civil Uninons have always historicly been between one man and another man, or one woman and another woman. I mean I'm not hetrophobic or anything, I have a few straight friends myself even though I strongly disapprove of their boring life-style, I'm just saying that if we start to accpet the hetrosexual life-style  and allow them to have civil unions what's next? Will we allow rednecks to enter a civil union with their gun, or a dog with a cat? Where does it end?

I mean just look at what happened to old societies and nations that were accepting of straight people. Persian Empire failed, Wales failed, Third Riech epicly failed, Soviet Union... I can go on and on.
