Former Thuringian minister-president Dieter Althaus and former Bavarian minister for economics Otto Wiesheu were both convicted of involuntary manslaughter... for causing a skiing accident in Althaus' case and a car accident while driving under the influence of alcohol in Wiesheu's case. Althaus was in office when it happened, while Wiesheu became a member of the Bavarian cabinet eight years after being convicted.
West German minister for displaced persons Theodor Oberländer was convicted in absentia in an East German show trial for war crimes against Jewish civilians during WWII. Despite being a kangaroo court, the allegations made against him weren't possibly unjustified either...
