Charming, lovable, and vaguely menacing.  Can't get more American than that.  Smiley

PS is one of the world's more embarrassing excuses for a political party.  The other quote was very astute.

Steve Cohen is a fine Congressman and a huge step up from his predecessor.

Franzl's somehow become a hardcore right-winger out of nowhere.  It's quite interesting, especially considering he's still considered a centrist by many.

The Reagan line is witty and, as usual, a gross oversimplification, but don't let that stop you.

The Churchill line is kind of dull.  The Goldwater line is pretty decent.

Quite a fine message.

PS: that jumble was "I can't believe I'm presiding over verin," or, in ordinary terms, "Governor of the Midwest."

You're governor of the Midwest?  Congratulations.  What's it like to preside over verin?

The Montana quote is cute, haha.

Poor guy.  I'd never heard of him before, but I googled him and read a bit.  Interesting fellow.

Pessimistic, but amusing.

Fantastic comment.  Especially because your blog is both informative and ridiculous.  The amount of smilies suggests that it's not the sort of person that'd usually read novella-length essays about Brazil.
