Does anyone else agree with me that Israel is one of the worse places where straight PR could possibly be used? Just the luck of everyone involved that straight PR is used.

Just needs a higher threshold. 5% would at least keep the uber-loonies out.

We're in agreement.  The Israelis need to borrow a lesson from the Germans...it took a pre-existing party framework, a split in one of the large parties, and a large protest vote for the Left Party to become viable in Germany.  It should take fairly large disruptions to make important political parties.

As I've said, it is in the best strategic interests of Israel for there to be a State of Palestine.

Of course it is.  The very worst thing for Israel would be unified Arab state.  If that happens the only question will be how much damage will the Israel nukes inflict before the State of Israel is crushed.

Wait...what?  "Unified Arab State?"

Pan-Arabism died with tye-dye and rotary telephones.
