Yay!  I get to leave the frozen tundra of Northern Illinois and fly eastward back to beautiful New Jersey!  What should I do for these 16 days of glory?

Spend some time with family and friends.  If you have the money and with all this snow and cold across the country... try snowboarding.

Snow is awful.

Here's one.  What should be my kickoff adult beverage?  I'll have not had one since early October!  I'm thinking...

+

...but I am open to suggestions.

Uncle Gramps, you don't have to tell me THAT one.  In all actuality, my testosterone levels are through the roof right now, so I'm quite animalistic.  Plus, 2.5 months of being surrounded by dudes and ONLY dudes is driving me nuts.

And BMT dead0?  Do you mean boot camp?  It sucked.  Hard.  There's far too much to elaborate upon but, as I tell my family, ask ye a question and ye shall be answered.

Enjoy the soft luxury that is Quilted Northern on your business after what I am sure was subpar toilet paper in boot camp.

The TP was actually just fine.

If you find time stuck in Chicagoland during your leave, I'm always happy to assist those who serve.

For leave I will be back home in NJ.  I will have PLENTY of liberty time out here in Chicagoland, however.  I'd be very grateful for any assistance.

Vodka + Red Bull?  Bleh.  You should celebrate with some good scotch or something instead.  Save that crap for the third drink, when you've already dulled your taste buds. Tongue

"Crap" is pretty subjective isn't it?  I happen to love Vod and Bull.

Go to a secluded island and decorate a palm tree. Smiley

I don't celebrate Christmas outside of participating in a few things with my family for their amusement.

...and you dare to show the flag of America in your signature?

I appreciate your yoke.  But if you must know, when it comes to secular liberals... I'm probably the most patriotic one you will ever meet.  The two often don't go together.

My deepest apologies.  Knock yourself out, then!

I probably will... QUITE LITERALLY!!!  Oh ho ho.

Atleast you are willing to admit it. That's the first step towards recovery.

Ummm... what?

Mike Naso has a specific view of what America should be. Kinda like what Hitler had in mind for Germany.

Damn.  That was too quick.  We're not even off the first page.

Anyway, Hockeydude, I'm with gramps.  That's really all you need.  You'll have plenty of time for cards, drinking, and all the other ways that 300 young men come up with to have fun when they're stuck together in a metal can for six months at a stretch.

Indeed Uncle Angus!  But I already agreed with Gramps and I've already a few females set up for myself.  But how about when I'm recharging?  Don't worry about me getting laid.  I'm just looking for a few interesting things to do when I'm not.

Do you have any shore-leave prostitute stories yet?

Sadly none.  I just got out of boot camp 12 days ago.

OK then a simple hometown hooker story.

Sorry opie, but I never had much reason to resort to prostitutes when the girls I hung out with were much better looking and disease-free for the most part.

I'd imagine I'll have some stories to tell after my first east coast deployment, though.  I'll be sure to fill you in at that time.

I'm glad you realized how much boot camp sucked.  When I was in, I remember speaking with some people that said they enjoyed it.  I couldn't ever decide if they were just trying to make the best of it, or just had really boring lives back home.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your rate?

MM.  I'll be MM3 when I leave here, then hopefully off to OCS ASAP.  Honestly, I enlisted to boost my officer package.

Too bad, though, that you have to hang out with them...

Most.  Yes.  I agree.  I've met a handful of really cool females in my time, though.  One in particular has the exact personality I like, but the physical attraction was not all it could be and the whole relationship flamed out quickly.

But I digress, there are some total packages out there that are well worth the time.
