I agree with Eraserhead. Bushie needs to drop these pie in the sky dreams of becoming a CADman and focus 100% on Wal-Mart assistant managery.

Hahaha.  If only he could take a step further and get on the dole, as I don't approve of helping the Waltons (although one wonders if hiring Bushie would "help").

Alas, I'm always willing to give 2nd chances.  Let's get behind Bushie in his 2nd real attempt at CADDing.  Certainly he's learned that this type of work takes practice.

Only one serving of dinner + dessert = very little appetite?

Instead of a second serving of dinner?  I wasn't even full when I finished eating.

Bushie, how often does dessert follow dinner?  Give me a percentage.

One good thing about being sick is that it may help me shed a couple of pounds.  This evening, I only had one plate of the casserole, corn, and baked beans and only had a small piece of cake and one scoop of ice cream for dessert.  I just have very little appetite.

Goodness. Only one plate of all of that is a light meal for you? No wonder you're overweight! When I'm sick I eat chicken soup or something like that.

I drown myself in fruit juice and medicine, and eat next to nothing.  Oklahoma sure is wacky.

I am looking forward to this interview on Friday.  It will only be 3 days after I officially got let go from my previous job.  If the Lord blesses me with this job, I know, without a doubt, there are things I need to do differently if I want to keep this longer than a couple months.  I fully intend on making the necessary changes wherever I find them.

I thought you didn't even know where to start with the material? So how can you make any changes?

Let's be honest, you're not going to change anything. You're just hoping that the next boss won't care about how sloppy your work is. Guess again, my friend.

Bushie, you need to break out the AutoCAD.  Hell, I'd even play around with it for an hour just because it's a computer program.

I think a call to Russ is in order.  If anything, he can give Bushie a few pointers on what he should be brushing up on.

Maybe Bushie should listen to AutoCAD youtubes in his sleep?  Like that classic episode of Dexter's Laboratory!

The only thing that got in poor Dexter's way was the inability to say the password to his laboratory.  As far as I know, Bushie does not have a secret lab underneath the train room, so he should really hop on this gravy train.

So far, I haven't heard anything, but I'm still hopeful that I'll hear something either by 1700 today or sometime on Monday.  In the mean time, I will continue on with the job search as normal.

Any time for naps, college football, or the ALDS?

Grumps, to satisfy your concern, the job pays $15.00/hr.

That's a pretty normal lifestyle in downtown OKC, but surely you could live like a king out in the sticks if you jump on this gravy train.  You'd be like the Christian opebo of rural Oklahoma.

Does it really matter whether or not he gets this job? Either way, he's going to be unemployed and looking for the next step of his career at Christmas.

Absolute certainty is nonsense in this case.  Bushie surely has a decent chance to blend in while he slowly refreshes himself with his CADDing.

Bushie, if you get fired from your next CAD job, will you put CAD in the customer service bin and get a job at WalMart?

I hope he would.  Wouldn't being asst. manager at an Oklahoma Wal-Mart be a lot like being on city council?

Admittedly, I may have cooked my own goose when I said I could get them done in 2-3 hours (this was before they told me 15-45 minutes).  I thought to myself, "oops".  I don't know if that statement leaves me out or not.  I'll find out Monday.

Yea, ya done, son.

How are you going to spin this gaffe into a victory?

What do you think was the more egregious waste of resources and time?  This drive with Dad to check mail or that time Bushie went road-tripping, plus motel fees, so he could drop in unannounced on his fmr. college professors?

Poor Papa Bushie. Works eighty hours a week, grills the family its food, and now he has to drive all the way to Tulsa and back so that Bushie can check his mail (??). I just hope to God that Mama Bushie is still letting him have his train room.

Excellent post my dear friend. Bushie is the biggest pussy I've ever seen.

I'm not ashamed.

Did Dad offer to drive?  How important is it that you get to Tulsa tomorrow?

Yes, he did.  I have to get medicine for this next week.  Blood pressure, Tourette's, and Arthritis.  That's pretty important, no?

Alright then.  I see no harm no foul here fellas.  My dad actually likes going on drives with me.

Dragging your dad into driving you on a 200 mile round trip (in which he'll obviously be paying for the gas) to pick up some bills (that he is also going to be paying) and your arthritis and gout remedies (that a Native American tribe pays for)?  I'd be mortified to be you, but as you said yourself, you're not even remotely ashamed!

I have no reason at all to be ashamed.  I haven't done anything wrong (except what the forum fabricates).

I'll have your back on this one Bushie.  I don't doubt Dad offered to make the trip with you.  Last question, do you have family over this weekend, or is it just the three of you?

Mom's sister and brother-in-law are at Grandma's through Wednesday morning on their way to Florida.  They'll be back through in about three weeks.

Yea, sounds like your pops looks forward to getting out of the house.

Bushie, why do you think it is that you have so much trouble keeping a job?

I really have no idea.  I'm not a horrible worker.  I'm sure I'm doing things incorrectly, but I'm not an idiot by any means.

I've been asking myself the same question.  I haven't come up with a clear answer.

Bushie you should work for the Federal government.  The job security is outstanding.

If I could get a job with the Feds, you better believe I'd hop on it immediately.  The only problem is the waiting list and hiring process is usually longer than I am willing to give it.  Maybe I'm just too impatient.

The waiting list is certainly not longer than the amount of time you've spent bouncing from job to job since your last run of stable employment.

Papa Bushie wants to get away from all the visiting relatives and Bushie is tagging along. What's the harm?

Hahaha!  That's the first thing I thought when Bushie said relatives are in the area.

I'll bet anything that Papa Bushie came up to Jeff, reminded him he needed to grab some things from Tulsa, and said "let's go for a ride tomorrow".   Papa Bushie, I couldn't imagine being the family patriarch and having to deal with these constantly visiting relatives crashing for weeks on end.

Jeff, will the Family Bushie all be voting this November?

You bet we will.  I'm the only one who will mark a Democrat on my ballot.  I'm voting for Joe Dorman over Mary Fallin.

What issues does your family prioritize?

Mom and Papa driving to Tulsa and Mama driving you to the doctor.  There are no words.

...

Do you think Mom is going to come into the examination room?

Joking aside, it's obvious Bushie's parents offer all these things to him.  The coddling is at a ridiculous level of extremity.  Bushie needs a few months at his bro and sister-in-law's place.  They might not like it, but it'll be good for him.

Sounds like you may have the bronchitis.

It's certainly possible.  I need to get it cleared up fast.  I have a vacation in 5 days!

Vacation from what?

taking 2 naps a day and watching 12 straight hours of tv can be exhausting.

I could never do that. I just don't think I have what it takes to do that kind of hard stress work.

It's not as bad as it sounds, since he takes breaks to post on Atlas.

Seems like it pays pretty comfortably too, since he can afford a car, rented apartment, phone, computer, tablet computer, frequent meals out, and occasional motel stays when on necessary business trips.

If he would just get on the dole all these things would be in reach, and by that I mean NOT reaching for mom's purse.

What universe do you live in?

The universe where Bushie can get on disability (Bushie has a number of conditions that would qualify) instead of going from job to job to job and draining his parents' bank account.  He needs SOMETHING stable.  Pride of all things stops him from doing this.

Then he could actually do mission trips, preaching, and church work; the things he actually seems passionate about.

It would still be worth a shot with Jeff's health condition (as far as we know it).

This is the official eligibility checklist:

And we have a winner!  And if he starts going on about God providing him a good job and all that nonsense to the claims rep... It's in the bag.  Then he's got all the time in the world to love on African children.

I know Jeff is enamored with the "American Dream", but I don't see how being a preacher or church volunteer would change that.  He could still have a wife, house, family, and work that is fulfilling to him.  Is it the fact that the wife would have to be employed?  Does Oklahoma know that it's common for women to work or has it not gotten there yet?
